Unresolved conflict
The Graft Crown has learned from every prior opening chapter: it imitates the Archive’s memory, the Orrery’s order, the Seamworks’ repair, and the Nocturne Archive’s concealment. Kesh proposes grafting the four recovered Witness Runes into an unclaimed Thorn root; Siv proposes cutting the heartwood before that root becomes the fifth rune.
